Upon successfully completing this IR course, the student should be able to:

  • Identify the subsystems of ONI orthopedic MR imagers
  • Locate service procedures and parts diagrams listed in the ONI service documentation
  • Operate the system at applications level to verify proper system operation
  • Operate the system in service mode to access service tools
  • Demonstrate safe work practiceso Perform planned maintenance to keep the system performing within specified limits
  • Perform system measurements and calibrations
  • Remove and replace selected parts to repair systems at the FRU level using functional checks and performance tests to ensure proper operation
  • Define steps of mechanical installation
  • Identify steps to isolate and rectify system malfunctions or image artifacts
  • Perform vacuum pump downo Perform Liquid Nitrogen pre-cool
  • Perform Liquid Nitrogen Purgeo Perform Liquid Helium Fill
  • Ramp the magnet to specificationo Perform a cold-head replacement
