Upon successful completion of the course, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the differences between CT, PET and Discovery LS images
- Identify the components of a Discovery LS
- Understand how a Discovery LS is constructed from its stand-alone components
- Demonstrate the ability to safely work in the Discovery LS environment
- Identify the cabling changes between a Discovery LS and the stand-alone systems
- Identify the purpose of the drive screw assembly
- Identify differences in system covers between a Discovery LS and the stand-alone systems
- Recognize the proper procedures to be followed when receiving a system from the mechanical installation team
- Identify room size and layout requirements for a Discovery LS system
- Understand Load From Cold (LFC) procedures for Discovery LS software on the PET host, CT host and the eNTEGRA workstation
- Install OLC hardware and configure connection software
- Install and configure I-Link and Health Page Software
- Identify the alignments needed for Discovery LS and when they would be performed
- Perform VQC for X, Y and Z movements
- Identify problems related to Discovery LS
- Isolate problems to either the CT or the PET
