Research-grade whole body assessment across a broad range of patient sizes and conditions.
Large scan window 6.5 ft X 2.2ft (198 cm x 66 cm) supports measurement of a wide range of patient body types.
Table weight limit allows accurate assessment of patients up to 450 lbs (204 kg).
High arm height helps to accurately measure patients with a supine abdominal thickness up to 35 cm.
Compared to other x-ray procedures, the radiation dose from DXA assessments is relatively low. DXA technology requires minimal radiation to generate measurements of body composition. However, when compared to other manufacturers of DXA devices, GE Lunar iDXA and Prodigy densitometers perform scans at a lower dose1, while still achieving higher precision2. Read more about why customers choose GE.

Low table height allows ease of access for patients – easy on, easy off. Helps to minimize the stress of getting an exam.
Table bed width helps technicians to easily position patients and enhances patient comfort.

high-resolution images and precise measurements to help you diagnose with confidence
With GE’s direct-to-digital technology, Lunar
iDXA provides extra-crisp images. In fact, it is comparable to radiographs in
identifying and classifying vertebral deformities concerning etiology, grade,
and shape, but with a lower dose than conventional X-ray. Lunar iDXA’s
latest-generation DXA technology also delivers enhanced precision. Greater precision provides the ability to detect small and statistically
significant changes sooner, which can motivate patient compliance, guide
treatment decisions, or
reduce the sample size required for clinical trials.
