Overview

During the 5-day experience attendees will: 

  • Learn how to systematically read cardiovascular CT studies with complete hands-on workstation experience (one workstation per student)
  • Be proctored to perform 50 live cases (5 day session) that include: patient and scanner setup, contrast injection, and image acquisition, reconstruction and post-processing
  • Discover how to troubleshoot issues and challenges that might be encountered in practice 
  • Have 50 - 150 case studies (comprising native coronary artery disease, bypass, stents, congenital heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, incidental findings) to systematically read and interpret between live cases and lectures
  • Be provided with a USB flash drive with PowerPoint** lectures on all aspects of cardiovascular CT 

This course also offers the opportunity to obtain additional cases toward Level 3 cardiology certification requirements. 

At completion of this course attendees will be able to: 

  • Confidently read cardiovascular CT studies comprising native coronary artery disease, bypass, stents, congenital heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, and incidental findings
  • Use GE’s Advantage Workstation protocols and applications to perform coronary images assessment and analysis.
  • Perform quantitative cardiac image analysis
  • Recognize and solve challenging cardiac CTA cases
  • Prepare for the Level 2 certification requirements of the ACC/AHA 

Attendees will receive electronic files with PowerPoint lectures on all aspects of cardiovascular CT.

Instructor Bio

Dr. Budoff graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He has published over 100 articles and authored textbook chapters on many aspects of cardiac computed tomography and its impact on coronary artery disease and is recognized as an internationally known pioneer in the field of cardiac ct. He lectures widely and is the primary author of many seminal publications including the ACC/AHA Competency Guidelines for Cardiac CT and MR, as well as the COCATS Guidelines for Fellowship Training in CT and MR. He is an NIH-funded principle investigator on Subclinical Atherosclerosis and his textbook "Cardiac CT Imaging" is the authoritative publication in the field.
