Overview

By the end of this program, the viewer should be able to:

  • Discuss radiation safety elements necessary to provide a safe diagnostic environment for patients. 
  • Apply computed tomography (CT) technical factors that will provide optimal image quality while adhering to “As Low As Reasonably Achievable” (ALARA) principles. 
  • Compare and contrast radiation dose emission characteristics of single detector CT (SDCT) and multiple detector CT (MDCT) systems.
  • Identify radiation safety principles to be used for pediatric patients in diagnostic practice.
