Overview

By the end of this program, the viewer should be able to: 

  • Recognize the fundamental elements of any CT scanner, including scan parameters. 
  • Describe the evolution of CT scanner technology through successive generations and scan modes.
  • Select scan prescriptions designed to maximize low contrast detectability or high contrast resolution in accordance with principles of ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable). 
  • Identify examination elements that are important for the successful conversion of scan data to multiplanar reformatted, three-dimensional (3D), or volume rendered images.
