Overview

By the end of this program, the viewer should be able to:  

  • Discuss anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the renal and mesenteric arterial systems. 
  • Explain the common signs, symptoms, and etiology of arterial disease during a renal or mesenteric ultrasound evaluation. 
  • Describe various spectral waveforms demonstrated during a renal or mesenteric ultrasound examination. 
  • Recognize the common pitfalls encountered during a renal or mesenteric ultrasound examination. 
  • Describe the standard protocol for a renal or mesenteric arterial examination as defined in the Society for Vascular Ultrasound’s "Professional Performance Guidelines."
